White on White Farmhouse, Revisited

This white on white farmhouse is fabulous:
Even the chickens seem to approve of their humans' white on white coop.

This is the photo that made me do it. I am choosing to paint my own cottage white on white too. It is so classic.

It is perfect inside too.

You can't have too many window seats, can you?

A delightful child's room with wonderful built-in cupboards on either side of the bed and window. The room of sweet dreams, for sure.

Gorgeous Shingled Cottage on the Water

I have someone coming over at 6:00pm to give me an estimate. He's painting a cottage around the corner and constructing a Chippendale railing on the front porch. I stopped and talked to him and got good vibes. I am so excited. photo source

White on White Cottage

Don't you love the decorative shingle patterns on the gables? This is so lovely and the dog on the porch completes the picture perfectly. via

Great house

I am absolutely blurry eyed from looking at paint colors, solid stain colors, going from place to place to check availability, etc. The description of the color the people who built this house give is they used a very dark brown/black solid stain. I love the way it has weathered. WANT, but cannot find. Will not stop until I do. I am tempted by Dragon's Breath by Benjamin Moore. Must go and look tomorrow. Cool name! via

Door for A Walled Garden

How lovely is this garden gate/door with a round opening? I like what I see of the walled courtyard too. I have someone coming later this morning to give me an estimate on painting and repairing my cottage. I love the color of this door and am considering going "dark" or "all white". I'm leaning towards dark because my cottage is near the road and next to deep woods. Road dirt and mildew would be less visible on a darker color. Will update you later. Have a great day. xo via

Door Within A Big Window

Oh, how I love this. If only such architectural elements were easy to find, but they are not. It looks as if someone's going on a trip or running away from home, doesn't it? via

Forest Green Door Rocks This Entrance

I wouldn't have the gathered sheer curtains on the side lights, but I like everything else. Maybe a larger lantern hanging from the overhead cornice too. via

South Carolina barrier island home designed by Herlong and Associates.
I love the floating ceiling detail in this fabulous kitchen. It defines the open space without the addition of walls. via

Another Blue Cottage Door and Window

This one is lovely too. I like the little trap door within the door for getting mail and packages and seeing who is there. Of course you could always look out the window, couldn't you? I love the roof and the brick walk and the giant plantings. Good night friends. Sleep tight. via

Bucolic Writer's Cottage between Two Ponds

What a place. It's called Duck Pond Farm and I know one of the previous owners. The main house is fabulous and so is the larger cottage, but this little jewel is my favorite. Click photo to enlarge. Sigh.

Outdoor Living in Style

Pennsylvania stonework is the best, isn't it?

I've always heard stone houses are cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
