Gorgeous Owl

Forgive me for being so tardy with my morning post. I'm still running around in circles here at the cottage but it's good to be busy. I hope you are having a great last weekend in June. Can you believe the year is half over? Where did it go? This owl certainly has good taste in perching places, doesn't he? I love the wrought iron fence or gate. via

A Sweet Bird For You

I am bone tired from mowing all afternoon but I finished. It was a perfect day. Jumping in bed shortly. This is an eastern yellow robin from Australia. via There is a short video by Neil Fifer here of this bird taking a bath. Good night all. 

Owl Head Bump (Kiss on Forehead)

I can't believe today is the first day of June, can you? I'm ready for summer now so bring it on. I turned on my air conditioning yesterday and about 5 minutes later an alarm when off in my head. I forgot to take the cover off the outside unit. I ran to the wall and turned off the thermostat and ran outside to take the cover off. The fans on the unit would not go on so I called my repair company. Luckily they came over at the end of the day and fixed it. They said I was the second person idiot this week to do this very thing. You can be sure I'll never do it again. Click here to see this image in full resolution. It's great.

My Birdbath in the Early Morning Light

Now I know why photographers prefer the early morning light. Everything just looks better before the sun has gotten very high in the sky. I took this photo a few minutes ago from the balcony with my Nikon. Of all my birdbaths, this one is the favorite for some reason. It serves as a perch too for the birds looking to pounce on an insect. See you later. Webster is whimpering to be fed.

Bluebird Spotting Today at My Cottage

Any day that starts with a bluebird spotting is a good one in my book. This one was pretty far away and I'm thankful my Nikon with the big telephoto lens was near the window. 

Don't Look - Bird Bathing

Last year at my birdbath. I have to look in the garage to see if I can find these two inserts for the faux bois birdbath that doesn't hold water very well. Done! Maybe I'll get birds then even though Tabitha is in the front yard all day long. This robin is hilarious, isn't he? I love his wet head all punked up.

No Front Yard Birds This Year

Could this be the reason?

Is this Tabitha's way of asking for an outside water dish of her own? I had just filled the birdbath with nice cold well water from the kitchen faucet.

Baby Goose
